Back	News from the Ottoman Bank Museum First speaker of the year at the Voyvoda Street Lectures: Prof. İhsan Bilgin One of the goals of the Ottoman Bank Museum is to create a dynamic and stimulating space. The Voyvoda Street Lectures series initiated two years ago will therefore continue as part of the museum's programs, featuring Prof. İhsan Bilgin, at the first lecture of the season, scheduled for Wednesday, January 29 at 6:30 p.m. Architect İhsan Bilgin, who designed the new museum officially opened on December 19, 2002, will give a lecture on: "First Generation Modern Office Architectural Design and the Ottoman Bank Head Office in Karaköy". Bilgin will present the former head office of the Ottoman Bank as a typical example of Modernism - the universal architectural trend which emerged in the second half of the 19th century - and examine it in relation to Modernist office designs located in the new iş hans - commercial buildings - of the time.
