Is Istanbul Losing its Cultural Heritage?

Istanbul's historic and cultural fabric is one of the richest in the world and it was approved, years ago, to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but lately it has been suggested that the city is increasingly unable to preserve its cultural heritage values and is left face to face with the danger of deterioration of its historic areas and structures.

The Ottoman Bank Archive and Research Center is organizing a panel discussion to address these issues on Wednesday, July 30 at 5:00 p.m. in the Ottoman Bank Museum. Taking up where the earlier panel "Istanbul a Heritage from the Past, a Debt to the Future" left off, the panelists will discuss policies and safeguarding measures for the preservation of the city's cultural heritage.
