About the Film
Y Tu Mamá También
Alfonso Cuarón
2001 (101 min.)
Screening dates: Friday, April 8, 7:30 p.m. - Saturday, April 9, 6:30 p.m.

Critically acclaimed for his skilled merging of old-school Hollywood elegance with the dark and acerbic narrative style of new generation indie films, this is Alfonso Cuarón's first totally independent feature. After such mainstream high-budget Hollywood productions as "Great Expectations" and "A little Princess," Cuarón astonished cinema circles by returning to Mexico City to produce this low-budget Spanish-language film.
Two teenage boys set off on a wild trip to a far away coast with a seductive "older" woman. Balancing sharp humor and insightful realism, Alfonso Cuarón's coming-of-age story, about life, sex, friendship, class conflict and death, is one the best indie films of recent years.
