This Week at the Voyvoda Street Economic History Lectures
The Limits of Neoliberal Globalization
Prof. Ziya Öniş will be joining us at the Voyvoda Street Economic History Lectures to discuss the process of neoliberal globalization which has been on the agenda since the beginning of the 1980s. The presentation entitled "The Limits of Neoliberal Globalization" will be held at the Ottoman Bank Museum, on Wednesday, February 2, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
In his lecture, Prof. Ziya Öniş will investigate the causes of the apparent failure of current neoliberal globalization in the light of past economic crises in Turkey and Argentina. Considering both the positive and negative aspects of the role of the IMF, he will examine to what extent countries that have successfully adjusted to globalization, such as China, India, Malaysia and Chile, have done so by deviating from the norms of neoliberal policy.
